I was really pleased how my D7000 metered (in single point) this weekend with the harsh sunlight. Almost all of my crowd shots came out, even shooting directly into the sun.

    From last month...
Thanks OnTheRopes. I too was more impressed with the B&W than color with that photo.
@ Rifqi - that looks to be a Porsche 928. Bug-eyed when the lights flip up. I had a 944 back in the day. I really liked the composition of the first portrait where your father is looking diagonally off into the distance with flash on his face.
@Bland - the look of the guy in the plaid cap is priceless!

Gabb, one of the things about PAD that I like is the creativity shown by those who share. Nice job of showing us your town in a unique way!

Finally made it to the fair, but missed any of the events. I was fairly pleased with what I got to shoot though.

Slightly on the more whimsical side this time...

Attention all residents of NYC, this is a notification from Notify NYC...

Dinosaurs have infested parts of the NY and NJ area, please take appropriate evasive maneuvers.

    Nikon D40 with the 18-135.

Basically went to Dinosaur Field Station with my very young cousins. I wasn't expecting much, but I was a bit disappointed at how crude some of the animatronics were.

Back from Guatemala... I have to process those photos for a presentation at church after I finish this folk festival from mid-April. This guy always has a hat, making for some pretty low light up there.

Thank you all for you kind words and warm welcome to this section. I promise to be more active in this area.

I must admit, I was really contemplating which photo to post, in conjunction with which lens I had used...given my arsenal :P The more I thought of it, I came to the conclusion that every time I had gone out shooting I have always taken a camera bag with at least 2-3 lens in it and a flash. So, on my last outing, I told myself: "Let's see how creative and flexible I can be with my new toy, the 85mm 1.8G only." Ladies and gentleman, I cannot stress enough how impressed I'm with this lens...I truly hope each of you get the opportunity in obtains/owning one.

This little experiment of mine has put me on a new path with respect to what gear I will be using in the future. That is to say, the next time I go out shooting, I will, regardless of what I will be shooting, limit myself to just one lens in order to see what I, as a photographer, can accomplish. I truly believe I this will make me a better photographer in knowing the limitation of my gear, my ability to adapt to setting and how to address the subject I seek to take a photo of.

    Cheers...

@Gabb(I think) Your Pano Planet disappeared along with the month of June before I could comment. I meant to come back to it, but I was too slow. Thanks for posting, I really enjoy Pano Planets.

So, here's one back at ya.

June was an amazing month for the PAD! Keep up the great work.

I've been posting from the same batch of photos for so long, I'm starting to forget which ones I've posted. Time to do some processing!

Lovely planet. I discovered pano planets like 3 days ago and I'm already hooked. I'm going to try to trade in my Samyang 14 for a fisheye for more creative options.

@msmoto...mundane :( you probably drove by my house (not really...SE side of Indy). Actually I have some pics of those same windmills. I always wanted to go at night and do some long exposures, but haven't gotten the chance.

@golf007sd I am still tempted to buy that lens, but I keep restraining myself and waiting for my 300 F4. Lol actually last night I was pricing out all the lenses I could get for the cost of the 300 F4...kind of kicking myself I didn't buy the 300 when I first wanted it. The price has gone up on them $200-$300 and the price on the Nikon 12-24 F4 has come down I think.
