    Hi,
I would like to buy the Nikon TC-17E II or the Nikon TC-14E II.
Any rumors or info about the next generation in 1.4X and 1.7X category?
    Thanks :)

The x2 type II converter got very poor reviews

but this is not the case with x1.7 and the x1.4

    both get quite good reviews

so we not see a new generation of these converters

there were some rumors around 1 year ago, but that's all. as sevencrossing wrote - 1.7II and 1.4II are really good TC's and there's really a small room for improvements in both of them

    Here is the TC-14E II on the 400mm f/2.8 VRII Nikkor, D4, at 1/800s f/13, ISO 800

    ROAD AMERICA

    The 2000px size is here

If one considers the price of an 800mm f/4.0 lens, the TC-14E II is a heck of a deal.

Mmmmmm....yes, I guess you are correct. I was switching back and forth and well....confusion....interestingly enough, the Exif data always shows it as 550mm for some reason.

So, allow me to restate this, in approximation.....an f/4 600mm is pricey and thus.....

    Thanks, Adam

I'm considering the TC-20E III to use with my 70-200 f/2.8.
Does anyone here use that combination?
What is your experience with it?

there is whole thread on it some were

It is "quite good" but you need to stop down to f 8

    focusing is a tad slow

but its a lot lot cheaper than the 200-400 f 4

I would like to see the 1.7 TC brought up-to-date with nano coatings & etc.

I have a 70-200 f2.8 VRII with a 1.4 TC II that work well on my D7K, but I would like to stretch things a bit more and think the 1.7 probably would be more flexible than the 2, the 2 is a more recent refresh.
