Have just received D-800 and planned to use CalDigit USB3 PCI on my MacPro to download directly from Camera. Card works fine with Kensington card reader, but MacPro CRASHES if camera connected directly to PCI card.
Card said to be the only Mac/PC USB3 on the market...
Asked for help from CalGigit, and here is the answer:
"Our card is designed for storage device only, like external drive and card readers.
- It does not support non-storage devices, like: keyboard, mouse, printer, scanner, etc.. These device's signal transfer is entirely different.As for your camera, our card does not support it."
Beware! CalDigit will not work with your camera...
