My D800 only lasted 3400 shots. Just died and stopped working in the middle of a job on Saturday. 2 fully charged battery's 1 in the the camera , 1 in the grip. Lost all power, About 4 hours later the battery icon showed up for about 10 mins, then faded away. Spoke to Nikon this morning and they have no clue what it is. On its way back to them now.. Hope to see it back soon :(

Ouch, sorry to hear that. I hope they get it repaired and returned asap.

Yes had a backup. Back to one of the old D300s's.
