@soap, the outside of the cabin/teepee is lit by the moon and there was a fire going inside, so that is what shines through the door window. Actually now, a week later that same spot is covered by half a meter of snow and the temperature is -17C!

I ASSumed the moon, but wasn't sure if you artificially lit or not, as the balance between outdoor light and indoor light works out so well.

Thanks guys. I dread at thought of winter coming seeing all of those vibrant colours of nature here.
@NikonDoby
I planned on majoring in Pol. Science but after seeing documentary "Our Brand is Crisis" I don't want to be the guy helping some scumbag into getting elected. Don't get me wrong I love Pol. Science but if I was to stay in academia as a professor I would have a though time with financial stability. It's hard to become a tenured professor at some good uni. Since I always found finance and other business fields easy, I decided to double major in finance and marketing most likely.
As far as I know photojournalists don't make that much money (I do care to some extent about a comfortable life, I don't want to life from paycheck to paycheck) and freelancing is even harder. I figured that having a more universal and practical degree such as in finance I will be able to provide myself (and my family in the future)a comfortable life. And if I am lucky and smart enough I will have more than enough saved capital to start my photography journey. but this is long term thinking.
At the moment I am trying get paying job to start saving, so i could open up my own photography studio. Baby step first.
I apologize for writing so much, I have tendency to write a lot. Sorry if I bored somebody.

"Sorry if I bored somebody"
Not at all poster. My brother graduated with a political science degree and now he works for a major major technology company in marketing, so go figure :^)Posted 3 years ago # -

Very nice photo mb.

I think at this point, major is less important than it used to be. The only way to set oneself apart from other countless graduates of college is to get a graduate diploma.
Mb
That looks like a very beautiful place. Where is it, if I may ask.

Or you can just become a photographer and be happy :^) Poor but emotionally happy :^)

Another photo from my "lomo" series.QuadraPixel, is Silly Cat his/her name? Very cute. It's been a while since we've had a cat picture up.
Posted 3 years ago # -
The cat's name is officially Sweat Pea, but we usually call him Kitty. He's a cat, he does not mind ;)
Here is another photo of him using Kodak Tmax 100 Film using a Nikon N65 and a 50mm F/1.8

Also a close up of some roses in my front yard. I used a Simga 12-24mm Full Frame lens on the N65 again and Kodak Ektar 100 film (great stuff for landscapes).

And last but not least. This was taken with a Mamiya 645 and Velvia 50 slide film at a place called Cascade Springs not far from my home. I left the colors alone rather than correcting for the blue color cast because it was in the shade. The color cast made for some really nice pastel colors.

I'll post more medium format photo's soon when I have the chance.

Yup.. You make me want to put another roll of film through my camera ... that last velvia one is lovely.
@ poster.. I did a zoology degree. My first job was in IT. Met some history majors, doing IT. important thing is to get the degree I think. Finace and marketing sounds like a good option. You will be the YUPPY with the D3S(or equivelent) and a SUV in a few years time :-)

My 7 month old in her last dress of the season before they are packed away...never to be put on again (unless we have another baby girl).

PBrigido ! The colours are perfect !! She is so cute!! pinch cheek and squeezing hugs! even the drool is cute !! LOL
Posted 3 years ago # -
Thanks heartyfisher! The biggest challenge was actually wiping the drool away fast enough to get back to the camera and take the shot before the drool reappeared!

I am poor already, I don't like it that much, it's a real pain in the arse to be honest. I think I can make a very strong case about how money can bring happiness. =]
heartyfisher
Haha, I don't think I will ever want to tote that heavy brick. If anything I would get FX and perhaps four thirds system for more stealthy street work. I would get a bike if anything else or a European sedan haha. I have to stay true to my roots. =]
Pbrigido
Cute daughter you have there. Great portrait. Great colours!

NikoDoby has done it again, how horny was that toad
QuadraPixel - Kitty is looking very happy cat
Monty - is this Russian pine?
PBrigido - Cara will be regular heartbreaker
Hey Poster maybe you should reconsider that consultant carrier, politician tend to become scumbags only after they are elected and you will be long gone by that time with your money. Here is one for you, same day, same sun, same place called Belgrade
Posted 3 years ago # -
mb, as it wasn't willing to speak with me, I couldn't tell, though if it was, it was an immigrant in Finland. Your tree is nice, I like the way how half of the leaves are gone from it.
A sunbathed boat (we stopped at the location for about 5 minutes, I set up the camera and the light wasn't right, then I saw a patch of sunlight creeping along the shore, got the shot and the light was gone in 20 seconds)

Yeah but I doubt my conscience will allow me to help them get there. Besides I don't feel like taking poll data constantly. I did dream about working for CIA, as a pol. science consultant. Helping them to plan a coup and what not, perhaps I watched too many movies, haha.
Nice colours. I am jealous, now I have to go to Central Park and find me some trees.

Yeah Monty, non speaking pines, stubborn and tough kind I know them well.
Well Poster politicians do get elected eventually and they will pay someone to help them do it, which is most of the times called making the difference, but usually means blending in.
And here is the Sun that makes all these colors

Beautiful colors mb.
Monty that must of been some vacation you went on. Was it a second honeymoon or something?
PBrigido lovely photo :^)
My Toad is actually a Texas Horned Lizard, but it's also referred to as a Horny Toad. My photo is of a concrete statue. It's not in a jar monty11 :^) I've been experimenting with replicating the lomography look with my digital cameras. For this photo I used a plastic cup and shot through it. The photo is actually a multi-exposure shot. I'll post a few more shots on this thread since that's where the whole idea originated.
