shutterdancer - You haven't offended me in any way, and my tiger shot was a joke, as there's no color saturation at all - sorry for misunderstanding and I hope You will enjoy this forum in future

Sigh ... feeling so left out .. so busy at work and due to a small mistake I dont have internet at home for a couple of weeks....( over paid one telephone account and didnt pay the land line so adsl got disconnected !!) .
And the cardinal doesn't look over saturated to me.. I may need to calibrate my monitor too .. ;-) lol

Thanks guys, I don't have more shots of that building... There are many more on my flickr page.

["And the cardinal doesn't look over saturated to me.. I may need to calibrate my monitor too"]
nah, the Cardinal is fine. I guess it's a good thing she didn't get a shot of a male Scarlet Tanager in full breeding plumage or else those who think this is over-saturated would have had their eyes burst into flames LOL That's an intensely red bird with striking black wings and tail.

I knew I shouldn’t have mentioned that darn saturation thing, and I really wasn’t criticizing. Actually I like bird shots and Gentoo here is doing very nice for some time, but I could not help noticing that most bird shooters like vividness (I will not mention the s word again) so I was just curious, and you guys must admit that you have been using that slider more then a bit. Anyway, vivid or otherwise, I like your birds.
Some vivid trees:

Hey guys, sorry, I guess that I overreacted to the saturation comment. It seems what I need to do is spend a little more time learning everyones personality so that I will understand who is joking and who has firmly held beliefs about photo editing.
At first I just thought that It was " Play With The Newbe Time" ;>)

Thanks Drkbl, your bug looks like it's wearing sunglasses and tanning at the beach :^)
mb I think you went too far with your red slider all of your leaves look orange to me, lol :^)
shutterdancer your not the first person to feel "offended". Just put a funny hat on, like my Viking helmet with beer bottles instead of horns, and laugh it off. You'll live longer that way :^)
*the next day Niko was hit by a bus* ;^)

EDIT: I forgot to post a picture before adam/monty get after me again ;^)Posted 3 years ago # -
Your absolutely right Niko.....and from now own my new mantra is "Lighten Up".....now lets all sing that together in the key of D :>)

Group hug everbody...YAY. I love you guys, sniff, sniff ;^)

Group hug eventually. But I need to correct something first:
["I knew I shouldn’t have mentioned that darn saturation thing, and I really wasn’t criticizing. Thank you mb. but my picture controls are in standard. If I took a picture in vivid mode, it would look completely psychotic. I've only done this a few times when the light is dim and gray. Most birders do not saturate much at all. One should be familiar with the birds and aware of geographic variation in which case some birds can be very bright in certain regions. Blue Jays vary greatly in the blue intensity over their range.
Having cleared that up hopefully:
mb I really do love the colors here in your last shot. It makes me feel the cool fall air and hear the wind in the trees.
Now my shot, ok I will break this rule once and say, shots of the day. It has to do with my above statements lol

White-Crowned Sparrow (one of the coastal races)
White-Crowned Sparrow (Gambel's race) notice it's a bit grayer.Posted 3 years ago # -
MB: leaves looks OK to me, I would crop out dead leaves on the right
Gentoo: Nice birds and below are some homes for themPete

First time on PAD. I'm here to learn...I have actually already learned a lot by lurking here from the beginning (Thank you all). If anyone feels like giving me any pointers or suggestions I would love to hear them.
I do want to say that I did a lot more PP to this shot than I usually do.
I wonder if I am going to actually be able to embed a picture here on my first attempt...here goes...Posted 3 years ago # -
Great to have you posting Jessi! But I think we need to ban you for making all of our pictures look awful compared to yours :^(
