I love the Redwoods. This spot is a day trip from the bay area.
I got this home and then kicked myself for not having spent a little more time in prep.

Well, I do think I can shoot cars, people, and maybe some other things.... but this macro stuff is something I am working on.... so one for today

    Flower

And...Adam, sorry, I can only look for a second.... but what a super photo!

I think my favorite is NSXTypR the tones in the scooters... however, Squamish...your portraits are becoming so very nice... moving toward a "haute couture" look...

Great shots a bit of dynamic in them.
Adamz, I think having animals doing something makes them more life like. You captured a really important moment.

I was reluctant to shoot this Reggae Fest yesterday because it was 105 degrees in the shade. The heat didn't seem to bother me once I started shooting. lol

Here's yet another bug...no wait, it's not...we went to visit my dad so I just got home and finished editing some shots. I bet some people here would like to see more of the car but cars bore me and this is a character portrait :p Don't worry though, I have another shot with a lot more car in it as well.

I was hoping to shoot this against a nice sunset but, as you can see, the weather wasn't really on my side. Later it started pouring down as well. Better to get some shot than none at all I guess.

Here a photo from a business trip I was on this week, a victorian that is located in Eureka, CA. It is called the Carson Mansion. I am loving this new Nikkor 10-24mm lens.

    Thank you!

    Rifqi, nice portrait!

Is your father a big motor sports fan?

I'm trying to figure out the car in the mid-ground. I'm going to say either a Nissan Silvia or a R32 GT-R.

    Great shots everyone.

    Great Egret, Brunei

Today it seems to be bird-day. Here is a Great Egret in Brunei. Was surprised how shy they are, until I found out, they are a delicacy here. Worthwhile looking at it in full resolution.

    More great imagae

@-Rschnaible - love the light on that mansion
@-RX4Photo - Love the power and strength in that shot, converts well to B&W
@-Squamishphoto - I must learn to do portraits like this always really nicely lit.
@ Rifqi- Nice, did you use flash with that?

Well, it seems somebody declared it bird day

OnTheRopes - spectacular timing, I know how hard is to get a snap like this and how long You have to wait for this moment sometimes.

    Men at work
    D800 + N24-70
A small comment about this snap as it was probably the toughest part of the whole trip - seeing how much people are carrying on their backs. Both me and my friend were taking care of our own backpacks - app 20-21 kg each, those guys (porters) were carrying app. 4-5 times as much and they got paid no more than 1000 NPR (+/- 12USD/day). I've seen porters carrying more than twice the load this guy has.

Nice birds. None today for me as I am on a flower regime. I decided to share this photo of a bitterroot (similar to the one from yesterday) as it has some amazing detail in it.

Thanks NSXType-R, I don't really know how much dad is into watching motor sports but he definitely enjoys racing. The car is a Porsche but that's about as far as my knowledge goes. I'm sure someone else can pinpoint it a bit better from this next shot, which is a bit more dramatic and more about the car.

Thanks OnTheRopes. I'm using a flash (LP160) through a Lastolite trigrip that's held close to the subject and almost at a horizontal angle. There's also a bit of CTO gel on the flash.
