Thank you....Here is one from last night... and this was one of the most difficult post processing photos I have done... getting the color to appear as I think I saw it. Ironically, the owner of the building was across the street at the time.

    Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin

All the data is on Flickr by clicking the photo. Also the 2000 px size.

Just a snap, but the colours were an eyeful (neutral in camera no post):

All of The Above = Wow! Hard to follow such great work.
@msmoto : Amazing clarity and sharpness, great sunset and colors.
    @El_Pick : Love the symmetry

The image below captured during my morning walk home from the coffee shop. The geometry and color caught my attention.

And now for more train pictures...
First steam engine on the main line in GA since 1994 (at least that's what my friend tells me - I just tag along to take pictures). Taken yesterday when they were moving it from Chattanooga to Atlanta.

Random shot from this morning - happy accident where the lens flare lined up.

@VelocityStop - Last year you tracked one of these and a few days later it showed up down the block from me for the College World Series. Wonder if that is the engine that is coming here.

This one is supposed to stay in the Southeast. It will be in Atlanta for the weekend and then head to NC on Monday (I think it is supposed to go up to Roanoke eventually). I know there is a train running out in Iowa that my friend had talked about possibly going to see, so that might be the one that ends up in Omaha. Love the color and contrast in your shot by the way.

edit: Did some research and it looks like the Union Pacific 844 (aka 8444) be there - which is the same one as last year.

I too wanted to echo the thoughts of others that said last month the PAD was really wonderful. I find that it is one of the first places I go to see when I get on line. This month is starting off really well!

Rx4photo- glad you like my food shots. I am quite the foodie myself, and I too need to watch my weight. Photos are probably the best 0 calorie food next to water. :D

velocitystop- I love trains, especially steam ones! I grew up watching Thomas the Tank Engine.

This is one of my first photos from back when I was just getting into photography (thanks to travelling in New Zealand - a stunning, stunning country).

It's the Tasman Valley, just south of the Tasman Glacier, which can be seen in the distance.

Shot with my D3000 and my first extra-kit-lens purchase, the Nikkor 10-24mm. I didn't have any filters yet so used PS to brighten the foreground, keeping the sky exposure about right. Would love to back and have another go!

Haha, I know how that is... plenty of times I'll see certain weather / lighting and know a shot I'd love to capture in those conditions. Shame I already posted my best example of this in old PAD threads... there's a train station in Newfoundland, NJ that I passed by for work twice in two months and photographed twice. First time was with my 20mm f/2.8, second time was with my Tokina 12-24mm f/4 II. I mostly prefer the second shot due to much greater DOF, and a great sky, but I still will certainly have a go with my 16-35mm f/4 VR if I happen by again! Ooh, maybe at night to get star trails...

June is starting great! Nice pictures!

@sand: Nice and clean! Beautiful colors!
@El_Pickerel: Great colors, nice contrast with the yellow. (you must have a steady hand)
@wheelmanbmf: I't indeed a action figure from Man in Black

    SPOORBRUG-1
When taking this picture, the train raged 1.5 meters from me with 80 Mph, creapy adventure (the camera was on a cord, I wasn't looking through the viewer :D)

    Amazing start to June :)

    Morning Hunt

This was taken a short time after sunrise, perhaps 6:15 am. I love the companionship of the subjects as they walk together and were unaware that I lagged behind to capture the image.

Well, if May set a new bar, June has already exceeded it. I am on travel status working with no time really or opportunity for photography, and am really amazed by these photos. Its making want to quit retirement and get a job so I have time for photography. Keep up the excellent work.

Hope you had fun, that's the most important, the hard work surely did pay-off, nicely done.

NR got talent. Beautiful stuff, quality is surely improving... Hard to compete.
Beautiful kanuck, nice to see you posting.
