I guess this is my public service announcement for the day :-)

I just checked the big three's websites (amazon, adorama, b&h) and it appears they just received a new shipment from Nikon because the 24mm is back in stock at all three. If you've been waiting for this lens to be back in stock, now's your chance. I've been contemplating getting this lens for a good while myself but I finally decided that I just couldn't justify it... yet :-/

On another note, this might also be good news for those who are still waiting on their D800's and D4's.

Thanks, iris chrome..... I was considering this, but went for the PC-E NIKKOR 24mm f/3.5D ED. Same price and I would guess the sharpness is about the same, but the versatility of the PC is something to behold. Of course, if auto focus and high speed is what one is after, the f/1.4 is King! For interior, landscapes, etc., one might want to consider the PC, however. And, the manual focus os so cool!

Similar boat to you msmoto. I already have the 24-70mm, and while not as impressive as the 24mm 1.4 or your PC-E 24mm, at this point I need the flexibility more than anything else.

Go for it, soon. You will regret each day you lived without one - it really is that good.

I'd love one, but at £1400 it looks like I'll be sticking with my 14-24 a while longer.
