I wish Nikon would stop wasting their time on crappy G-series lenses and start producing the 28mm f1.4 again!

Have an f/4, and f/2.8 pro-line like Canon. I'm sure that there are plenty of photographers who would love to buy a constant aperture, and cheaper AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm f/4 IF-ED VR, over the current f/2.8 one.

A more reasonably priced 200-400mm? I'm a beginner who got a D80 last July (probably going to spring for a D300 in the next few weeks, I don't need video and it doesn't sound like the D400 will offer any features that are compelling for me). I have a 70-200 though, got it a couple of weeks ago and love it. Maybe a cheaper 200-400 is unrealistic though :/

Please stop raising prices, you will lose us to Canon if things get worse and your lenses become more and more $$$$

Seconding the f/4 pro line. Wanting more affordable DX AF-S primes, a 70mm (efl 105mm) would be nice, but I'd settle for an AF-S 85mm f/1.8. A more affordable AF-S Wide angle zoom, heck even a wide angle prime at about 15mm or 12mm.

f/4 pro line is a brilliant idea.

Dear Nikon, can you please stop the mad megapixel war? Don't follow stupid Canon's marketing analysts. May be they are not stupid, so in this case they think, that people are stupid. Now in some famous Russian photographic forums people scold Canon for its 15 MP they put in new Canon EOS 500D. Most comments are negative! What are you doing guys? Are you lost your mind? Are your brakes broken?
For me completely enough 10 MP maximum! Even 6 MP quite enough! Don't think, that people are stupid!
Ideal entry-level DSLR for me:
1) 6 MP on DX format (I know, I want too much and today it's impossible. Unfortunately!!!)
2) a) Video recording 1920x1080 @ 30 fps or 24 fps (Give us Choice! If only one fps mode, I prefer 30 fps! Because I don't need to go in Hollywood and make movies. I want smooth and natural motion, not jerky). 1280x720 @ 30 fps is also OK. But no 20 fps, like Canon made! It's misunderstanding. People can't understand for what this castrate mode?! Of cause this mode can't be named as Full HD mode, because it is just unusable.
b) Autofocus in Video Mode.
c) No Motion JPEG! No MOV format!
d) D90's sound quality in video mode very bad!
3) Flip & twist LCD-monitor (it will make Live View and Video Mode much more usable!)P.S. Do you realy want to name D40's replacement as D5000? For what so many digits? Are you sure you have enough space to put this 5000 on entry-level DSLR's body? :) I don't like this system. Use D41, D42, D43, etc.! :) What's the problem? I guess, I understand. Probably you, guys, like beautiful numerals. Oh yeah, marketing also hear, I understand.

In previous message I made mistake: I wrote "Of cause". Not correct. Right way is "Of course".
And also in the last sentence I wrote "hear" instead of "here".
Dear moderator, can You please correct that my message? Because one hour gone and I can't edit my previous post. And then remove this message.
Thank You.

Everything for free. Yeah that would be awesome.
Seriously though, I think that I would like for once not having a problem with getting new stuff from Nikon after it's announced, because I just love having prices jacked up by the retailers.
Modernize the primes to AF-S. Make them cheaper. I be damned primes should be cheaper to make, why such high price?
Better ergonomics. Please the D90 is too small for my hands.
Either blow away the competition to justify the prices or lower them to be in the same price segment with Canon. Your lenses are considerably more expensive than Canon.

Dear Nikon
Make us a smaller, lighter FX DSLR. PLEASE!
For those of use who want to go fast and light there are no options for wide angle.
Putting a 24mm prime on a D700 is not light.
Putting a 12-24 on a D60 is not light.
Putting a 24mm prime on a D60 is not wide. Not everyone who spends four figures on an DSLR is "compensating".

quote myself from just yesterday: "...A more affordable AF-S Wide angle zoom..."
and now today: http://nikonrumors.com/2009/03/26/the-real-deal-nikon-af-s-nikkor-10-24mm-135-45g-ed-dx.aspx
Called it. Thanks Nikon.
Edit: I guess I'll update my predictions. They will rerelease an updated 24-85mm, and possibly an update to the 80-400mm.

Dear Nippon Kogaku.
Please build more fast AF-S primes. Nearly the whole prime range is more than 10 years old, has no AF-S. I would like to see a Canon's competitor AF-S 135/2 (razorsharp). Or a AF-S 85/1.8 or 1.4, AF-S 24/1.8 and a AF-S 17/2,8 pancake. All for FX, please.
Until christmas 2009, there's a lot of time to build them, Nikon San.
Thank you.

80-400 AF-S, please.
Posted 4 years ago # -
give us faster standard zoom lenses lenses for DX!!!! I love my 24-70 2.8 for FX, but its a bit unpracticle for my backup D300... something equal, like the 16-85, but faster and beter auto focus...!!!!!!!!!!!
please?Posted 4 years ago # -
I might be crazy, but I'd love to see the resurrection of the Nikonos RS. And please bring back the aperture ring!

I would like to see Nikon come out with a D Series dSLR that is 15mp that is similar to Canon's 50D. The latest D series is the D90 and that is a 12mp. When will Nikon come out with a new D series model?
Posted 4 years ago # -
I'd love to see the d90 with a less plasticy body. It's competitor, the Canon 40/50D, has the Magnesium-alloy body, and has the buttons sitting on the top enviro-sealed.

This is from a film student..
PLEASE!!!
D400 w/
everything on D300 and:
-1080/24 and 30P video
-ability to change ISO and f/stop on my ownI really don't like using the 35mm DOF adapters on video cameras. they suck up light, and the chromatic aberration gets annoying.
The d90 works well in daylight, but sucks at night or indoors for video.
that's what i'm really hoping for!

@ TDH:
did you see the 17-55 f/2.8?Posted 4 years ago # -
Here is an interesting Idea.. Give us a small Coolpix P&S with the same High ISO sensor as the D3/D700 at 3MP with an nice F2.8 lens equivalent to 24-135. even a F2.0 24-70 will be fine.
Posted 4 years ago # -
Re-release the D40 with the cropped portion of the D700 sensor. I don't need the pixels, but the high ISO performance would go really nicely with my spiffy new 35mm prime.

Nikon, please fix the firmware. There are several feature that are "free" with a firmware fix. Example - Add a self-timer feature to Mirror-Up. Do I really have to carry a release cable with me ALL the time? Yes, I know there is a 30-second timeout for Mirror-Up. I just want to be able to adjust it to a shorter time.
Another - locking shooting banks. After I save my shooting banks, I want to "lock" them. What I am after is the ability to set the shooting banks back to the "locked" setting by performing a "two green buttons" reset.
Add the ability to read multiple saved shooting banks on a CF card. Right now, I have to use multiple CF cards to hold my saved banks. This is because the camera saves the file under a single name. I'm willing to rename them in the computer, just add the ability to list the files and let me select which one to load.
You get the idea...

I love my 80-400mm VR, but this needs a version 2 w/ AF-S and VR II. I know this lens would fly off the shelf. Nikon you are crazy if you don't do this soon. If you want to make money fast then make this lens NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
