Another from the San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park. It's a bit cliche, but I like it, and I just have to brag that I shot this handheld.

monty11, we seem to have similar tastes in imaging, I liked the shot of the dish you prepared for your guests, even from the description it sounds very tasty !
gravity84, thanks, this is the type of image that is really satisfying to capture, if I had any drawing/painting skills this is the style of image I would be working on, but as I do not have this ability I do the best I can with my photography.

Here's something from my P&S last year. It's a Nikon S10. I love the swivel body design, hate the lack of manual controls. Nikon needs a new swivel-lens p&s

monty11 - the bowl picture is really tasty, nice composition (just to be picky, the last bowl is a little bit unaligned), the landscape picture - I like the clouds a lot, You can try a little bit cropping (the water in front 16:9 format would be great) and clone out the roof and the tower
tai - love this picture of small ducks, IMHO to make it better You could crop the back of the old duck; as for the cherry blossoms - I would love to be there, really nice shot
gentoo - nice colors, You used some filter for this picture? - the only one thing You can do is either to slightly crop the picture or clone out the thing in bottom left corner
as for my B&W photo, I'm also not a huge fan of this kind of photography, but it works much better when I'm forced to use high iso (the grain on d200 is really bad once You cross the iso 800 border) or when it suits - like it was in this lion photo - the color version didn't had this "kick" the B&W version hasbelow another my picture (I would be thankful if someone could help me identify the correct specie)

adamz:
I only used a standard Tiffen UV filter for that shot.
Also, beautiful shot of the Python. I believe it's a Green Tree Python (Morelia viridis) from Asia. It could also be an Emerald Tree Boa (Corallus caninus) from South America. I'd have to look these two up to be sure.

This is a shot I took last night of a Manhattan rooftop in the rain. Taken with my Nikkor-Q C 135mm f/2.8 Non-AI. As always, click for flickr page.

Nice picture, I would crop it a bit to get rid of that small bit of brick wall in the bottom left corner or just clone it :)
One from my favourite genres:

I've always been a sucker for panoramas and I've done quite a few of them. One main reason is that often the single shot does not convey the feeling one gets when looking at a scene and I feel that a panorama is quite helpful in such a case.
The first one was actually an unintentional from PSE7 cylindrical stitching but I really liked the result ... I hope you do too :)
Sorry, its quite big :D

monty I like that! I've never seen a shot like that before. I've never played around with panorama though.

monty - the water shoot - perfect ! the panorama - I'm not really into cylindrical panoramas, so will focus on the technological aspect, and it is quite good, You can try to add some saturation, as the green is a little bit washed out
art - great photo, the horizon is a little bit unleveled, but the simplicity of this picture is simply great
gentoo - nice photo, the one thing You could do is to clone out this small white dot on the mirrored in water neck and the white dot on the black part of head - what's the name of this specie, as I haven't seen this kind of duck before

"what's the name of this specie"
It's a Brown Chinese Goose which is a domestic variety of the Swan Goose (Anser cynoides)

Not very artistic, but this was in a no-flash/no-tripod dimly-lit aquarium - I was pleased to get anything
