Tai - Nice work, I think you nailed it in that shot.
Monty - I love your shots. Is Estonia just a more interesting place than my area? Perhaps I'm just a boring person LOL.

Willis, I think neither ... you just have to keep your ears and eyes open. You see an add for some strange cultural event ... go there and grab your camera.
and a new picture done a couple of days ago at my cooking club, I was also the author of the meal.
A particular favourite ' found ' image of mine, my modest tribute to English artist Bridget Riley who opened my eyes to a new way of looking at things.

Wow ... nice! I like it!
If you have modern stile home then this would look very cool printed out in A2 and hung on the wall.
@ Art : Cool I like too !
don't mean to repost, but the same URL is always updated with a new image http://www.joeypiccola.dyndns.org
enjoy...
With the recent chatter about shooting film in this forum, I thought today I'd put some film I shot last weekend. This is from my Nikon FE using Velvia 50. The lens was a Nikkor-S 50mm f/1.4 pre-ai. Tomorrow I'm going out with some Reala in what will hopefully be some nice spring weather. Happy shooting!

A new day, and a very new photo: http://jmcs.deviantart.com/art/Light-118113456 (much too small amount of views for my liking, but is is a pretty beautiful picture)
I hope this thread prospers and will continue for a long time, perhaps it could become a ' sticky '. I know this site is mainly concerned with equipment but it is good to see what images are produced once a camera/lens choice decision has been made.
To this end here is a link to a another of my images

monty11 & heartyfisher, thanks for your comments, I have an A2 sized print of my initial image hanging on the wall in front of me at present even though my house is more ' traditionally ' styled !!
Just got back from a little stroll. Here's a picture taken under 2 hours ago using the best macro lens I've ever touched, the Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/4 AIS, and the PN-11 extension tube.
@Art I really like today's image. Simple and beautiful lighting.
@Art ... I think it is the best in this thread (yes, even better than your other one) ... but you know what they say about opinions. You have a very good eye for shapes and the like.
@Tai ... Otherwise a nice photo, but you nipped off the tip of the leaf, for me it would look better with the leaf in the frame and a bit of air left between it and the edge.
Mine is from last summer:
This post seems to get very popular - I "sticked" it to the top. I am experimenting with a plugin that will allow embedded images.

I know it's "Photo-a-day" but I just finished shooting 2 days of the DC Cherry Blossom Festival:

This one was taken last night, near where I live, just before a thunderstorm hit us here.
Details are : Nikon D200, Sigma 17-70 @ F22, 1/15sec.
Another shot from yesterday's walk with the micro-nikkor 105mm f/4 AIS

I think I'm officially excited for spring
Edit: Correction, i think I took this before I put the PN-11 my camera with just the 105mm by itself.
On a recent trip to Sydney, Aus. I was on an evening walk around the harbor and caught this shot of the moon coming up over the harbor bridge. Nikon D80 18-135mm f3.8 1.8sec ISO 400.

Monty,
I have edited the picture.
Remove the fullstop from the address and try reducing the saturation a bit, I'm sure that it didn't look that colourful :)
@tai simplicity can go a long way sometimes.

Nice Shot AquaCow! DC seems like it would be a lot of fun to shoot. Especially for a low-light junkie like me.
Did you shoot that from the other end of the reflecting pool? it seems like it would be further away at 150mm (then again, I haven't been to DC since I was 8 so my memory is a bit rusty).
I finally set up my rig and got shooting today. I know the subject has been photographed to death but so have all kinds of nature shots and portraits ... so what, I say! I still have quite far to go and things to buy to make it work a bit better.
I think we will have to create a new topic every months for the Photo-a-day NR edition

admin - I would prefer this and future threads to remain open to all type of image postings, to set themes can become restrictive, I generally take photographs whenever I see something I consider makes an interesting composition, I would prefer to be able to share that image even if it does not fit the months theme, i.e. I would not shoot a portrait just because a portrait theme had been set. This thread has had an interesting variety of images posted over the last week I hope it can continue that way.
Today's is from last autumn. A red panda sleeping in a tree at the Bronx zoo. Taken with the Nikon 18-200 (also, i think the first photo I've posted taken with an AF lens)
@Art - once again, gorgeous lighting.
@monthy11 - You're right, there are few, if any subject matters that haven't been done 'to death' as you say. Photographing droplets like that can create really interesting surreal imagery.
