Has anyone tried the Kaiser digital level ? They make two types: One with LED only, and one with sound as well (A must if you have your eye stuck to the viewfinder I think).
May be not so good as the Artificial Horizon found in the D700, but probably a prety good and useful piece of equipment.
What do you think ?
Digital spirit level

I've never tried one and I don't think I'd ever buy one. The viewfinder grid lines are good enough for me and when they're not I use photoshop to fix any distortion.
I think a digital level like that would be more useful on a tripod.

Aah ... the machine that goes "ping"!
If you have so much sight left in your eyes that can see through the viewfinder then you can also set the horizon straight and if you are a clutz like I am, then a much cheaper method is the straightening tool in ACR or PS.

I do straighten things up in PS when needed, but with the years and the use of my right angle view finder addition, I find that, despite the grid, I still get the horizon tilted from time to time.
Thanks for your advice :o)

Well if you do get one, then rather get the proper spirit level.

The regular spirit level, that You mount on hot shoe will cost You less, and once You learn how to use it, You gonna be more than happy with the results.
as for correcting the horizon in PP, well You have to remember that all the time You gonna crop Your picture if You will do it that way.Posted 3 years ago # -
