Does anyone have experience with a Tamron AF 90mm f/2.8 Di SP AF/MF 1:1 Macro Lens?
If you do, can you please tell me what your findings are about this lens?
and can you point me to some examples you made?

I'm not familiar with the Tamron lenses, but I heard they're optically sound, but maybe not built to the same quality as Nikon lenses.
Google Thom Hogan and the Tamron, he's very impressed by it.
But I don't think it'll autofocus on a D5000.
If you want Nikkor macro lenses, look into the 40mm 2.8, the 60mm 2.8, 105mm 2.8 or the 85mm 3.5.
The 40mm and 85mm are both DX lenses though, so if you're planning to switch to FX in any time, don't get them.
But then again, they're pretty cheap.
I think it does AF on the D5000. I almost got it, but I am never sure about the 3rd party quality/durability. All the reviews of the lens say it is very good, but I really wanted to the Nikon 105 F2.8 so I got it instead. With all the options that Nikon now has for macro lenses...I would get one of them instead. All are sharp and perform great...plus the Tamron is $500 new which you can get all of the Nikon lenses for around that price minus the 105 F2.8.
