Msmoto, the subaru worked well in over 2000 km of gravel roads. Not even a flat tire!

Is it possible this hunter is looking for a Cougar?

Either a cougar with a big gun or a sasquatch.

A bizarre landmass in north Iceland, which I visited purely because of how unusual it looked on maps: Þórðarhöfði. Almost an island, reaching about 260m at the highest point, and connected to the mainland by two narrow slivers of land. The land (at least on the connection I walked across) was just worn volcanic stones, and not a very fun walk. I did not have time to wander far once I was actually on Þórðarhöfði due to the falling light and the tiring walk back across the isthmus of sorts. The land up there, aside from the corner I came up on, was very soft and marshy. The corner I made landfall on looked like it previously had been settled... there were depressions that looked like foundations here. You can see one of the earthen building footprints here, partially washed away to the sea.
(Coordinates are 65.962, -19.488773 if you want to look for yourself at how strange this place is!)

Awesome stuff, everyone. Janoch, that's got too much saturation for me (and that probably means something coming from a long-time velvia fan!).

You all post such great stuff that I sometimes feel embarrassed to post anything. I haven't been really proud of anything I've taken recently. My son complained about being cold on the way home a couple of weeks ago. He stumbled from the car to the house when we got home and found the first warm spot he could—the dog's kennel. He had a fever of 103 that night, the poor guy!

Great details, EP. Front to back the image is really clear and sharp.

Got a work harness with a built-in bosen's chair and a pair of ascenders, so with a twin rope set-up I'll be able to angle myself around with ease and in comfort anywhere in space that I want to be so long as the cliff has at least a slight overhang to it.

I prefer the second, Janoch.
Squamish, I love your climbing shots. You have a great eye for composition and your use of depth of field always puts me right in the photo. I feel like I'm that guy looking for a hold.

Looks more like a fly - worst thing that will do to you is puke digestive enzymes onto your skin that it just used on something really unpleasant.....Nice pictures peeps!
Haha.. well it seems this fly produce enzymes to liquefy a variety of biological matter, skin included?

This thread gets better all the time...and, in the USA, this is a big weekend. We remember those who have given their life or limb in defending our country. So, while shooting at a short track last night, I looked up and....

@Peely22 : I too keep coming back to your B&W of the old couple. Brilliant capture. Bravo.
@TaoTeJared : Fantastic job capturing these two images and linking them in one theme. Very emotional and appropriate.
@Benji2505 : Great tonal range in this B & W image.
@Regulator75: There's such a artistic and simple-beauty to your nature still-lifes. I'm really enjoying these.It's been a busy week for me and no images (besides work documentary) that are worth sharing. I'll have something soon, i hope.
Lots of inspiring work here!Posted 1 year ago #
