D300s voltage problems?

Hi,

today i ' ve tested my new Nikon D300s. I 've noticed that the picture in the viewfindet move down und up for a very short moment after release. I use my nikon 16-85mm VR with VR = on. This problem doesn't appear every shot. Then i switched to my Nikon 70-300mm VR (with VR=on) I can see the same trouble. On both lenses appear this problem only with VR=ON.

But when i use the same lenses with my old D300 I can't see this.

Then I test the lenses with the internal flash. Then every shot the pictures in my viewfinder is shacking down and up!!!! Could this be a voltage problem? VR=on + Flash -> not enough electricity ???

Do you have the same problem? Please check your Cam

(Sorry for my bad english, but this problem reduce my joy for my new D300s)

The pictures with this problem are not sharp. They looks like 2 shots (double-shot).

I doubt it is a voltage problem. It sounds like it's just the VR system locking/ settling, this would account for the apparent frame movement. With the 'double image', it could be blur or you might not be allowing the VR system to settle before taking the shot.

With my D60 and VR lens, I have the same frame movement and it only happens when VR is turned on.

Hi mhunte84,

thank you for the post. But with my old D300 there is no problem. And there are 2 lenses with the same movement in the viewfinder with the d300s!

cyron123, so there is no VR movement in the viewfinder with your D300 but with the D300S you see the viewfinder image move around slightly?

Hello NikoDoby,

Yes! with the D300 everythings is OK! With the D300s the pictures jumps down. And this pictures aren't sharp! Every 10th or 12th picture has a "jump". !?!?

With VR activated you should see a little movement in the viewfinder. Are you using Active or Normal setting on the VR? Are you using Liveview?

Can you post a picture of an unsharp photo you are getting?

Hello NikoDoby,

yes, you are right. I 've seen on my old D300 a little movement too, but the pictures are sharp. And the pictures with the d300s are NOT sharp. I'm not using Live View.

This problem appears in Active and Normal Mode of the VR.

This is normal when using VR. I read about this a couple of years ago.

Johndbr, can you elaborate a bit more on your comment?

cyron123, were you using the same settings on both the D300 and D300S (aperture/shutter,iso, etc.)
