Wow so overwhelmingly you guys want to try Nude photography? I am totally shocked and dissappointed. :^)
It's not as glamorous as you'd think. Lots of work goes into a "playboy" like session. You've got to always maintain your professionalism and at least act like you know what you're doing, even if you don't. But um, snaketail, I'm pretty sure the "hardcore" stuff is a lot easier.
Never do a shoot alone with just a model. Always have someone with YOU even if she brings along a friend or someone else. But that doesn't mean bring along 5 of your drinking buddies to the shoot and charge them admission ahead of time either.
Never, ever touch the model and I don't mean that in a perverted way. I mean to move her shoulder or arm or hair out of the way or something like that. Things that you might do with a clothed model is a big no, no with a nude model. The more comfortable your model is during the shoot, the more successful your photography will be.
Make sure the model is nude for a while before you start shooting, not so you can check her out while your rubbing your chin and nodding your head, but so that any marks from her clothing don't show up on her body and become a distraction in the pictures. Saves time photo chopping as well. Have her wear just a loose robe until you are ready to shoot.
If you don't have a major lighting set up, then shoot outdoors in a private area. Like a backyard with good privacy. Try going to a place the model is familiar and comfortable with if she's not that experienced. If there's nothing interesting to use outside as a backdrop then just use black or white cloth. Lighting is the most important thing.
I hope my wife's not reading this and wondering how I know all this stuff......
Oh yeah make sure your significant other is aware and OK with your playboy photog impersonation. It will save you the trouble of having all your photos deleted or your computer smashed to pieces.
