Has anyone actually received confirmation that their D800E has shipped? I have not seen a single post to say someone has received a confirmation or the camera itself.

I know some NPS people have received theirs, doubt any normal people will.

#15 D800e have been delivered to Nikon Belgium yesterday, these will be shipped to a few dealers this week (wk.16) with Capture NX2, there is 0.0 information on any further deliveries...
Seems like the production quantities of the E version are indeed very very small

You'd think Nikon would go out of their way to get one of their camera releases right. This makes it 3 out of 3 screwups on their premium cameras. This has been so poorly handled, if Nikon were my company heads would be rolling.

If Nikon were the ones taking pre-orders this would totally be their fault but the blame lies with B/H, Adorama, Amazon etc who allowed pre-orders without out so much knowing how many cameras they would actually be getting.

I would also expect that Nikon would public ally address the obvious problems currently experienced and give an indication on the approach in addressing this. Nikon would be monumentally incompetent if they didn't expect a substantial demand, this forum for starters has indicated significant demand and expectations. Anyone would think this is the first time Nikon have released a camera. This is not the first time Nikon have had these issues, they don't seem to be a learning organization.
I don't think I should need to hunt around forums to get some indication on delivery timeframes. My concern comes from posts stating a 12th April release date and I have not heard of anyone getting a camera.

Get serious here...I pre-ordered a D800e and I knew that there would be very high demand and long delivery time. The fact that you haven't heard of anyone getting a camera doesn't mean much. I know two NPS folks who received them. Nikon is not under any obligation to get you a camera by a given date. I pre-paid for my camera and I will get it when it is delivered. The NPS get's fulfilled first, then all the guys that prepaid before me. I just got a notice that the D3X is back in stock at B&H. Try to remember, there was that little earthquake that damaged the Sendai plant very badly and the little flood in Thailand that idled their factory and the Sony factory that made the sensors. I don't think the problem is with Nikon.....
