I thought everything about this video was really well done. Looks like with the right person behind it, a D300s can deliver excellent results.

Quite an amazing video. I'm more fascinated with the machinery being filmed than on inspecting the quality of the D300S :^)
A camera is just a tool and ultimately it's the photographers skill that makes the shot whether it's stills or video. Of course having a fascinating subject doesn't hurt. Thanks for the link to the video John.

The machinery was indeed interesting... but the way it got filmed is pretty boring. Almost infinite DOF all the time, some boring zooms and pan, the amount of fade transitions shows a lack of experience from the editor and the frames aren't very good. Some of them were actually good shots tho, but mostly good photography, not good video.
Anyway, thanks for sharing the machinery video.

How come the jelly effect isn't really there? Is it because he didn't pan like crazy, or did he do something else?

Used a tripod and no crazy side to side panning.
jbl any links to what you consider good DSLR video samples?

NikoDoby, that makes perfect sense.
Was this a thread spool making machine? I like the old metal curved spoke wheels.
