Just got the D800.
The built in memory buffer is specified in page 436 of the manual and should be 100 for Large, Medium, FX..
However on my camera it always shows (r13) - size 13. No matter how I change any parameter, including resetting to default settings, it stays at 13.
Any of you owners of a new D800 see this issue and can help?
The camera is amazing. Picture quality is superb.

Using lossless compression 14 bit RAW files I get r16. The spec is 17, so maybe there is one more gimme in there somewhere. Are you pressing "OK" after selecting JPEG in setup? Also, are you sure you aren't saving multiple copies (RAW plus JPEG). That could easily take you down to r13.
@ZEEVK, where did you get your D800? The world wonders...

100 is for JPG's not RAW, which You have. also turn off any vignette control, noise reduction on high iso, tonal changes, etc. and You will get up to 16 files, which is the maximum on d800

It states 100 images in page 436 of the manual. JPEG, S, Basic. Actually it is not affected at all by any setting, including all other picture control options such as Vignatte, NR, etc..
Got the camera from Amazon.. Ordered within minute after announcement..
