Was in the store yesterday picking up a new holster bag. Put a camera-mounted Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 into the holster, its petal hood resting on the bottom of the bag (camera on top of it). Sales associate told me that the hood should be reversed for storage, as storing the lens in the bag with the hood in shooting position would mess up focus. Not sure why this would mess up the focus alignment, but figured I would check here to see if storing a camera and lens in this manner could have negative effects. Any opinions?
