Is it common for Nikon to seal the boxes with a metalic / holographic Nikon sticker? The first image in the unboxing post posted on NikonRumors shows the sealed box with the Nikon sticker.

When looking at my D4 packaging, My box has no such seals on the box. My only conclusion was the delay, addition of XQD Cards, or camera firmware upgrades resulted in new boxes without the officual Nikon seal. My camera was from an official Nikon Dealer, OneCall.com/Huppin’s Photo.

    Any thoughts?

None of my Gold boxes (camera or lens) have ever been sealed in any way. I'm in the UK, different importers may have different policies.

I am in the US and none of my Nikon gear has had a seal.

Nope, none of my gear has a Nikon seal either. In fact, they're not sealed at all.

The D40 kit, 35mm 1.8, 105mm 2.8 all don't have stickers on them. Now that I think about it, it's kind of weird, don't you think?

Not that I think that they're fake, I just think, what's stopping the store from sticking used goods and selling them off as new?

Never seen a seal on NIKON boxes. But of those wondering if someone used the camera, download a photo to Flicker and look at the Exif data and it gives the number of shots on the camera body. Cool! Just checked the D4... up to 222 so far.
