When I read that B and H was just beginning to ship orders placed in early Feb. for the E version I cancelled my March 21st order and decided to order from the Nikon Store this morning. In fact, I blew off ordering the E version and went with the standard model after reading some recent reviews and test reports comparing the two. Even the standard version far exceeds my needs. I didn't see the battery / drive at the Nikon Store so I ordered that from B and H and of course they don't have any extra batteries. Will pick up a battery locally from a Best Buy where they seem to be in stock. I almost went ahead with the D4 but I have just been blown away by some of the images I've been seeing from the D800 lately and I think it's better suited to what I do in general. Plus I need to update my 600mm f4 which will set me back a few dollars so that couple of thousand I saved between the D4 and D800 can go toward that little chunk of glass. Anyway, if you've been waiting on B and H it doesn't seem like they will overcome the barrage of orders anytime in the near future. I'd just buy straight from Nikon. Can't beat the service.

Just received an email from Adorama saying I should be seeing my camera soon most likely as early as the end of the month. Can't wait to get that FX monster.

Finally after months of waiting I received my D800 today. I know it's at home and I'm stuck working... Can't wait!
Incredibly, I placed the order yesterday at noon at the Best Buy website and ordered the UPS next day delivery. Sure I had to pay taxes ($180 in FL) but I just couldn't wait any longer. It took less than 22 hours from order to my door!!

I know this is off-topic but I work at a local Nikon dealer in Portland that has them in stock, and we ship out. Well, I'm not here to advertise so I won't put the name, but send me a PM if you want a D800 or D4 and I can set one aside, contact you, and you'll have it as soon as Monday. Yes we are authorized and they're 100% brand new. We only have a handful in stock due to cancelled orders, but I mean, you could also wait several months and buy it from one of these mega stores. I'm just trying to help someone out.

Sent an email to Mike's Camera to check on my order status this afternoon. An unexpected surprise: it's been shipped. Arriving this Monday, along with CF cards and USB 3.0 card reader. Can't wait! Good luck to those waiting for their shipment.

This post has been getting a bit quiet lately so I can only assume that the supply of D800's around the world has been improving. While thats great for those who has been waiting for some time, I do wish Nikon would remember its outlining devotee's and send at least one shipment this month to New Zealand. There are D800E's on the shelf here though.

I got the itch to pick up a d800 on Friday (sold my d700, still have a d7000). I ordered on Crutchfield since they had the $200 off with a lens and no tax to NYC. Ordered the d800 + 24-70. I figured I was in for a wait. This thread made me nervous.
The lens shipped on Friday and I just got a notice that the d800 shipped today. I feel very fortunate to say the least!

Got the D800 today after 4 months waiting. I thought the D7000 was a spectacular camera and it is but the D800 is in a whole different league of camera compared to the D7000. Totally worth the wait!

Yaa! My D800 has arrived and what a beast. If the D7000 was a Toyota then the D800 would be a Humvee. The massive shutter when it comes down sounds more like a battering ram. I can't believe the shots they are soooo detailed and crisp.
The word is that Nikon have been air freighting a few to NZ in dribs and drabs with a shipment of 20 due in about a week, the flow is picking up more and more as time goes on.
A BIG thank you and tip of the hat to all the Guys and Gals in the Nikon factory making these machines, I imagine that the whip has been cracking and some long hours worked as pressure mounted to supply devotees.Posted 11 months ago # -
I just received my 2nd replacement nikon d800! serial 30323xx. Left view finder auto focus problem confirmed again! I cant believe I still got this problem. I dont know what to do anymore. send to nikon or get another replacement?

I had an order from Samy's camera as it is in stock.
I pay using paypal. First, I had a problem in transferring but after accomplishing all the requirements, paypal successfully sent the money to Samy's Camera.
Since the first try, there's a problem, the status in there says pending. but on 19 July the money (payment) was successfully transmitted. As of now, the status is still pending. And when I checked with the Samy's Customer Service, she told me of the old story.
Has someone experience this same with Samy's Camera?
Since that is not small amount of money, I'm afraid they will deny of receiving.i forgot, the amount i paid includes the overnight shipping.
