amazon.fr has now excess D800 stock, while amazon.it have not delivered preorders dating back from 23rd of March. And all this for the very same product, same warehouse owned by Amazon EU sarl.
Terrible service. I order 30kUSD stuff from the various amazons (.com, .co.uk, .fr and .it) on a yearly basis, I am disgusted.

The D800E has for the first time appeared at the Nikon store on-line. I seem to recall that when this first occurred with the D800, supplies of the D800 improved somewhat. As of yet, I have not seen a "Shop Now" button appear for the D800.

Got my second D800 yesterday, this one from BB. Had to wait a long 3 days and pay CA taxes, but with 2% back and 18 months interest free financing life is good. I'll test for LF issues tomorrow.

very frustrating. my order from Amazon has given the delivery date of June 30, 2012. on June 29, they sent me email saying that there is some delay in delivery and new delivery date is July 3, 2012. The payment of one-day delivery will be returned back to our account. So, I agree.
But until now, we haven't heard from Amazon, no updates.
We tried to call the customer representative and they passed the phone to they said "specialist". and advise that our order is "on hold"?
Such case was already been solved on 27 June when we call the representative and our bank as well regarding the release of such amount from Amazon and they didn't even advise us during the email of delivery delayed. If you guys have the same experienced, please do advise me if my order will be delivered as I cannot get concrete answer from the specialist as what they called.

Is anyone in the Caribbean looking for a D800E? I found (from DPreview forums) an authorised Nikon dealer in the Virgin Islands with D800Es in stock at $3295. The camera has a full US warranty. They don't deliver, but I have arranged to pick it up at their Duty Free shop in St Maarten, a $200 return fight from a place I will be soon. PM me if you want contact details.

I have cancelled my order at B&H and will stop doing the fancy plots of B&H delivery times.

    Good luck, y'all.

So...I think that something good just happened over on the Nikon Store. I THINK that I just ordered a D800e. I was able to put the camera in my cart...provide shipping and payment details...and submit. I then got something like "if you don't see the order details screen, you'll receive an email confirmation shortly." Then nothing else....

To those of you that know and have ordered on the Nikon Store (D800's that is)...is the above common? I went in immediately after placing this order and tried to add the D800e again...and it came back with the standard response of "We're sorry but D800E is currently out of stock and cannot be added to your cart. We apologize for any inconvenience."

I'll repost if I get a confirmation email of any sort...but this could be a first for all of us that have been waiting on B&H since Feb 7th!

Even now I've sorted my D800E, I can't break the habit of this thread and the search.

The Nikon on-line store currently has the D800, D800E and D4 available to buy. First time I've seen all three. Get 'em while they're hot!

I managed to get a D800e from Best Buy Online on 07/02. It has shipped and arrives tomorrow! The only problem is a location scout popped up for tomorrow so I might not be home to sign for it...

D800e order confirmation received yesterday from the Nikon Store. How they can justify selling on the Nikon Store when they havent met backordered demand around the world is beyond me... Now I've got to cancel my backup B&H order once I receive the d00e. Best of luck to each of you that are still searching.

So, the D800E arrived today...via overnight shipping. Nikon Store didn't charge sales tax. I was amazed that it arrived so quickly. Now...off to shooting and seeing what this little thing has over the D3X that has been my mainstay... Now, if only Giottos would get on the ball and put out a screen protector for this camera....

To anyone still looking for an 800e, keep checking the Nikon Store...they seem to periodically have them available....you've just got to check often!!

My local store (see above for name) even has an 800 in the glass display counter as well as in boxes (plural) on the shelf now. It was between a D7000 and D3200.

The D800 must not be anything special now...

I just picked up a D800E from the Shutterbug camera shop in Santa Rosa CA. After reading this thread, I tried a local camera shop while waiting for my Feb 7, B&H order. I didn't immediately notice any issue with the color of the LCD screen. I still need to check the left focus point.

Long-time lurker, first-time poster. Been following leads as to where people get their D800. I went with Mike's Camera.

I called Mike's Camera yesterday (4pm-ish Eastern) inquiring about the availability. "3 pre-paids in front of you, 7-10 days, could be sooner." Placed the order afterwards. I'll update once my order ships.

I've tried NikonUSA but Digital River charges tax for orders shipped to my state, so that's a no go. I know that I'll miss out on the lens combo saving, but I really don't need any extras at this point (16-35 f/4, 50 f/1.4, 85 f/1.8, 70-210 f/4).
