Hey guys, I haven't had anytime to do test yet as I had to go out to dinner. I did take the D4, the 24g and 85g… it was insanely dark, so I was using up to 12,800 iso. I don't want to disappoint anyone yet, especially without any testing, but what I can say is I am severly dissapointed with nikon for skimping on the things that may not matter to the end result, but the camera 'feels' cheap. The shutter sound compared to the D3s is awful, very similar to the d7000/d700 sound… not a succinct clack. Some people might like the new sound, but me, I prefer the D3s anyday.. it feels solid compared to the D4. When I got home, I compared both bodies, and the D3s wins hands down. I'm not a fan of the smooth out look… I'm not sure what Nikon has done with the exterior, but it certainly feels alot more plasticky.
as far as image quality and video's go. The video is awesome, straight out of the box with no editing through Premiere, it is beautiful, no banding at all.
Live view is implemented nicely (for stills - so not really a usage for me) but for people who do use it, it is great. images are on par with D3s, nothing extra special to note or noticable, and I do pixel peep. But considering the extra resolution. If it matched the D3s, I would be impressed… amazing, that although I love the D3s, you don't appreciate it as much as you should until you shoot with something else, like Mark II, 1D IV e.t.c. The D3s is a gorgeous machine and the quality of the construction and feel in the hand beats any camera (besides the leica m9-p)
That is it for my initial thoughts..
