Gah... back from under my rock. Some schoolwork exploded, so I had to catch up on that. And then I danced for 14 hours straight, somewhere in Maine. Though I did find the time while resting my feets to get at least 1200 shots to process eventually. Whenever I get through the Iceland stuff. Ack.

@El_Pickerel... gosh I feel so sorry for you, ha,ha,ha...I forgot to mention that there were some other Nikon shooters at this dance festival! I tried out the 85mm f/1.4G and 50mm f/1.4G. Both pretty lenses, and the 85mm f/1.4 is now more tempting than ever. I wonder how much it feels different than the 85mm f/1.8G or the other 85mm lenses. Gotta compare things. I think my 'prime holy trinity' doesn't include the 85mm though... definitely the 24mm f/1.4G, definitely a big fast telephoto like the 135mm f/2 or 200mm f/2, and probably a tilt-shift in the middle.
Since April isn't up yet, here's a self-photo from Iceland:

That is why I purchased the 1.8 rather than the 1.4. And the difference in cost os so big. It allows me the rational to purchase the 24mm f/1.4. Except now, with the ISO of the D4, I can shoot f/4.5 lenses, and be very happy.
But do check out the test, on the comparison of the 85's.

I've got March 33 as well. I'm thinking the admins won the Mega Million Lottery and are most likely traveling the world trying out their new Hasselblads.

Elvis the temp was in the low 20's in the last image, not very cold. You are seeing a lot of geothermal activity though.Posted 1 year ago # -
Superb Treckie, really like the mood, looks like painting by a midle-age master, perhaps a Rembrandt.

I might have this mixed up with another test but thought the 85/1.8G beat out the 85/1.4D but the 85/1.4G was not used in the test I saw at least(not sure why). The test I saw had the 85/1.4D, 85/1.8D and the new 85/1.8G. There might have been other test done but can you post a link to the test you used/found.

Well in my attempt to go buggy I didn't use a tripod so I had to brace myself, there is a very very fine line between in and out of focus. Needless to say this was about the best I could hold my self still, I really wish the front leg would have been in a different location.

Thanks msmoto for the workflow on portraits. I don't get much practice in that arena.
