black line appearing, can anybody help?

Hi, I was wondering if anybody might have any idea what is going on here. I am experiencing a weird black line when triggering flash remotely. Oddly enough I am usually able to shoot off a couple beautiful images, but then this weird black line starts showing up.

here is my set up: D7000 w/Nikon 70-200 VRII. Using cowboy studios triggers to fire one SB 700, and one very old SB 28. They both work fine on-camera.

the two flashes are being bounced off of umbrellas at 45 deg. angles.

anybody have any thoughts as to what is causing this??

I'm no expert at flashes, but your exif info says you used a shutter speed of 1/500th of a second.

The D7000 doesn't sync at 1/500th of a second.

Your problem is probably the shutter speed.

Yup, shutter speed too high, the flashes don't sync well and part of the image is unlit. Set it at 1/250 and you're set!
