Horrible. Sorry, but I detest people that steal, cheat and lie. I have had stuff stolen from me and it pisses me off to no end. Hope they find them and get the equipment back. It seems like it would be hard to get rid of that much equipment. I have to imagine it will be just a matter of time before something pops up.

WOW...is about all I can say, I think they got 90% or more of everything Nikon currently makes in the DSLR world. I agree, I see a few things popping up for sale maybe not everything. It really depends if the person who stole it knows what they got and went after it on purpose or it was a "lucky" butt munch that has no clue (I think the latter will get caught if thats the case).

    I am still in shock.

So the quote is 100,000 quid...what's the real loss to Nikon?

On the one hand, that number is retail, not-cost to-build, so the loss is less.
On the other hand, if it's hard to get gear shipped to the next show on time, the loss could conceivably be more.

Not just that, but they probably had displays and everything organized to put out...like this.

Wow! Be suspicious of anybody you see with a D800 within the next few weeks...

I hope they capture the thief too.

I'm sure they've insured it all, but it is terrible for them to steal something like that.

Oh well, they're going to have a heck of a hard time selling any of it since all the serial numbers are up.

Any equipment severely discounted would be right off the bad suspicious. Now they have 100,000 worth of gear sitting around.

This type of grand theft is often an "inside job." I hope the investigators are thinking that way.

Admin add a like button so I can like Sevencrossing's post :P

Im with you Rx4. I'm sure that stuff is heavily guarded and tracked carefully.

I wonder what their insurance policy covers the value or what?

I am scheduled to be attending the roadshow when it reaches London on the 27th of this month. I guess I won't be handling the 4 & 800 after all? Maybe they will have replacements by then? I think with the numbers known the crooks are going to have a tough time selling any of the equipment, and anyone sending it in for service will have it confiscated (even if they bought it innocently). This is ONE situation where Nikons new service restrictions might be a good idea.

Holy cow! That is an incredible amount of equipment! This person woul'nt need anything else but memory cards. It must be an inside job- (the weight alone)someone cant just pick up & go easily.Hope they catch 'em, dont like when SHADY people get away with things!
