I noticed that Canon has released a G11 as a update to the G10. I wonder when Nikon is going to follow suit and upgrade the P6000?
Any news regarding new P6000

"P7000" will probably be announced in the fall (maybe).

I hope it'll be a better camera than the current P6000. Personally, I would love (and many others too) if they stuck the D3000 sensor in there. I don't care if they lose geotagging, I don't care if it has a smaller zoom range. I want a good advanced Nikon point and shoot when I don't want to carry my DSLR. I shouldn't need to be thinking about a Canon point and shoot at all.

I don't see that happening NSX. Especially now that canon has announced the G11 which is basically the same as the G10. What you described is actually called the Sigma DP2 !!

The Sigma does not have an optical viewfinder. I won't buy a camera without it!

You can just slap one on the hotshoe ted just like the good ole days :^)
Have you guys seen the new canon s90? It's a cheaper, smaller, lighter G11. Looks almost exactly like a Panasonic LX3. Seems like a better alternative to the G11.

I hear you on the viewfinder issue. My old Casio P&S is practically unusable in direct sunlight.

Well why can't Nikon make a Sigma DP2-like camera? There's no other camera like it. Be different for once!!!
