Well, I can't say I do, but my guess would be Flathead Lake and Glacier in the background. It could be anywhere in Colorado as well. Doesn't make any difference though... a fantastic photo..... very well done, Yetibuddha
Actually, it looks more like Lake McDonald.... From Going to the Sun Road. But one must remember when riding a motorcycle fitted for a cross country tour, loaded heavily, the real concentration is on riding the bike and not sight seeing.....

Well, you are right, Lake McDonald in Glacier. Not bad for when your attention is focused on the road, particularly the Going to the Sun Road.

Something more mundane.
Boulders!
No idea what the magnification factor is, I just know that the macro is pretty darn good.

Ok, I have been away from this thread too long. BTW, awesome shot Yetibuddha, that is quite the location.
Here is mine: probably a bit more mundane.

More boats... from Digby, Nova Scotia, Canada... where the tides are over twenty feet at the dock.
Rode up there on a motorcycle with my son... over 1500 miles one way.... means taking only a few cameras

Shot from a Nikon from the viewfinder of an Olympus. :D
This is a shot of a corn plant at 400x.
We use Olympus microscopes in class now. This is a stained slide of a corn plant. I'll be taking more pictures as the semester progresses, I need to sketch what I see and there isn't enough time to do what we need to do and sketch every microscope slide we come across.
We used to use Nikon microscopes, but for some odd reason this lab uses Olympus ones exclusively.
Our dissecting scopes are Leica made. They're pretty crappy actually, and need an external light source.
I actually preferred the Nikon microscopes- the two focusing rings are smoother than the Olympus ones in general.
Haha, come to think of it, I use a setup more expensive than a D3 body every week!

My girl friend wanted me to take a snap shot of her dog Harlee and I've received many compliments on this one. I wasn't very impressed with this shot but here it is anyway.

Actually, I kind of like that dog shot- the dog has quite a thoughtful expression, and all of the stuff in the garage gives it a very realistic feeling, as opposed to a studio setting where everything is precisely controlled. In other words, it looks like something you could actually go and see for yourself.

Thank you for the warmth rbrylawski.
What bike do you have msmoto? I drove Triumph, BMW and Goldwings for almost 35 years, second year without one... surely miss it.Yetibuddha said:
...Pierre, we will miss your snow shots.Winter is not finished yet, we are in the middle of a fantastically floffy snow fall as I write this (mmm, shooting worthy).

Not a great shot, a crop of a previous post showing the amazing wind-formed snow structures.Posted 1 year ago # -

Second and last cross country solo, North Carolina to Portland, Oregon, returned through Glacier National Park, in 2008, on a Suzuki DL1000. Now, I am down to a DR650 to just putt around on. Rode a 2006 Hayabusa 10,000 miles, three rear tires. I will try to post a shot of the Suzuki and Beemer on the Photo-A-Day... if I can find the masters.Posted 1 year ago # -

Lost a bunch when I changed computers, but they may be on hard drive somewhere.... This is some place in the Nebraska, Wyoming part of the journey, I believe. My journey took about four and one half days to ride the 2800 miles on the Zuki.... Coming back was almost 4000 miles as I did some detours....

Took tthis one this morning with my P7100, which I use when I am travelling. Don't know why some people make fun of that camera. I like it, because you can manually control it like a DSLR.
