@zlik: When we get our hands on production examples of these cameras, we'll be able to answer the currently imponderable (that's a big word for this time of the morning here), questions you ask... Really wish I had an answer for your last one...
@sevencrossing: Yes, gear does need upgrading once every few years. At work, we do an orientation day for everyone who needs to book anything out that I take part in every semester and instruct the students how to use it all but no matter what we say/do/show it doesn't stop them from doing dumb things with it. Our estimate is to replace each item in our our 'borrow' stock every 12-18 months, just wish for us, that 3 years was realistic. We'd be able to buy more of the better items as our budget would go further... I'd never treat my personal stuff that way. Oh well... I think there is this point under which gear stands up pretty well but then if you just abuse it that little bit more, it goes downhill really fast.
