I want to transition from an F60 and FA to a DSLR (probably the D7000) but i have a fair number for lenses i don't know what to do with them or if they will work on my new camera.
in the F60 there are a 50mm f1.8, a 28-80mm f 3.5-5.6 and a 135-400mm f4.5-5.6
in my FA there are a 50mm f1.4, 35-105mm f3.5-4.5 and a 105mm f2.5)
what are my options here? the D7000 represents the highest price of money i can spend for a new camera!

Keep using them on the D7000! If they are autofocus lenses they'll work with no issue... if they are manual focus you can use them just fine too, since the D7000 has an aperture coupling for AI lenses and a non-CPU lens data input. I have an ancient AI-modified 50-300mm f/4.5 lens and while it isn't the best lens optically, it certainly has its look and I do bring it out to use sometimes.
With the midrange zooms at least, you will probably be better off replacing them with a "cheap" crop sensor zoom, since I imagine a midrange zoom and crop sensor lenses in that category aren't too expensive. Though if you are comfortable with the field of view the 28-80 and 35-105 will look on a crop sensor, then hey why worry about replacing them?
The one thing I would definitely recommend to add to your lenses if possible would be the DX 35mm f/1.8... it'll give you about the same field of view as the 50mm lenses on your film cameras, and it's great quality at a very low price.

Any lens with AF or AF-D in the title are auto focus and will be fully functional on the D7000. Any lenses without AF, AF-D or AF-S are manual focus.
This is pretty similar to the question I had when I went digital. I got a D200 so I could use all of my old AI/AIs lenses. So I’d say keep your lenses for now but what I found is that a good modern DX lens with VR will perform much better than the older lenses.
In general you can use most lenses on most cameras, but the capabilities of the cameras might be limited. You can find an article about what camera can do what with which type lens at the Nikon tech support site (just enter "lens compatibility" as search term). There is also an overview at Ken Rockwells site.
As a rule of thumb with all cameras below the D7000 you will not have any metering with the manual focus lenses (most likely the ones you listed for the FA) and no autofocus for the AF-D lenses you listed for the F60.
Old AIS lenses are a great fit with the D7000. -- MF lenses don't have good resale.
I bought the AIS 24/2.8, 55/2.8, and 105/2.5 all for about $400 in extremely clean to mint condition in the last year. I think you can do better as a seller than that but I think it's good to keep any wide aperture MF optics that will be practical on a 1.5x crop sensor. For the small aperture zooms I think the comment about DX VR zooms is accurate.
Buy a V1 + an FT1 and use these lenses on that ;o)
