Nikon AF-S Zoom Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8G ED AF Lens.

Any issues with not being able to install an ND Filter on the front?

Nah... But I seldom need one as the Dof is large anyway at 2.8

If you are looking for filter to use with this lens, have a look at Lee Filters USA. Having had this lens for about 6 months, I have not found a need to use any filters for it....yet. However, if I was to get one, Lee Filers SW-150 Starter Kit would be the one I would go with.

    Cheers...

the only filter you might want to use would be an ND. and there is little choice of filters, the already mentioned lee being about it.

Ok,...another question. Which lens would you recommend? I like the 17-35 because I can screw on a ND Filter and not have the worries about scratching the lens. Your thoughts?

This one is a hard question because I own and love both... How wide do you need? I personally prefer the 14-24mm but the 17-35mm is smaller and yes it takes a ND... Where are you going with it... My 14-24mm is not my sports shooter as the front element can get covered with dirt like the 17-35mm cant...

There is also a filter system from Fotodiox available for the 14-24.

Simply put..there is nothing that can touch the performance of the 14-24mm. The question you have to ask yours, intentional, is: what will it be used for (be it the 14-24 or 17-35)...landscape, architectural photography..etc..etc? How often will you be using the ND filter on any given lens?

Personally, whenever I'm considering using an ND filter (I have the Hoya ND400) I pullout my 24-70mm 2.8.

Be that as it may, the 17-35mm 2.8 is a great lens. As is the 16-34 f4...which also has VR, thus making it a bit more flexible.

I like to add that when I do use an ND filter, I shoot at very slow shutter speeds (5-20 sec) and low aperture (f8-f22), thus speed of the lens itself (ie 2.8) does not come into play.
