Going for the kill, got no idea what it is, but that's what kept him busy while approaching. He is a wild one but I suspect he somehow got used to human; otherwise he would be impossible to approach.
Thanks rbrylawski. I've thought about making a photo book for the coffee table (just need to get a coffee table) with the bugs, once I have enough that I consider good enough. Here's something a bit prettier, it's from the same session as the previous portrait of my wife that I posted. Pretty good payoff for 13 minutes of shooting.
How about a cup of coffee while we await the press release in a few hours.... in Milwaukee, go to the Alterra store and watch them roast the beans...
Nikon D90 - Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 @ 11mm and f/9
This young lady's dress (and twirling) made for some great photos at a New Year's Eve dance. (Soft photo because there was very low lighting, I don't use flash, and these guys were moving very fast.)
D7000 - AF 20mm f/2.8 - f/2.8 - ISO 3200 - 1/160sec
Rarely post my kids on internet sites but I'm very proud of my low light, outside strobist effort here. Used a remote SB-900 and a 42" shoot thru umbrella, CLS triggered.
D7000 ; Nikkor 24-70mm @ f/5.6 ; 1/60sec ; ISO 200 ( shadows brought up in Lightroom)
D7000 + Sigma 105mm F2.8 + SB-600 flash (F16, 1/60, ISO200)
@Jerl, great photo. Really like how the light hits and contrasts with the night sky. What lens & settings did you use? I see it was taken with a D90 on Flickr.
Playing with the 40mm 2.8 macro.
Mr. Henry....I got the 40mm 2.8 macro for Christmas. It's a remarkable little lens for the money!

Ps: The shot of the eye is amazing! You clearly were very close. Did you have any difficulty avoiding the lens shadow the model's eye?
Thanks, No it wasn't difficult at all. I was in the lobby of a building with HUGE glass front doors, plenty of sunlight coming in.
ps: the crop makes it look closer as well.

Thanks! I used a Tokina 11-16/2.8 at 2.8 for 30s using iso 3200 (ev -7). Here is something similar. The flashes of light you see are people playing a flashlight tag game.
Yikes that black dress is good for 3200 El_Pickerel.
