View NX2 opening 2 windows, one with odd characters?

    Whenever I open View NX2, it always opens two windows of the program. If I close out the one on top, they both close. Opening it up immediately again solves the 2-window problem, but it's annoying. Also, the first window opens up with odd characters at the top, where the file path normally is.     Does anyone know how to fix this annoying problem?

    (Using a Macbook Pro, Lion OS)

    Where did you install the copy of View NX2 from? Was it a disc with the camera? If so I would suggest uninstalling it and installing the latest copy from the Nikon website. The characters look Japanese to me?
