Let's see now.... if I get a new V1 for Christmas with the FT-1 adapter.... and stick on the 400mm with the 2X converter....
mmm.... 2160 mm equivalent focal length. Wonder if I can handhold it?
Happy Holidays to all.

Show us ome resulting pics please.... :-)
Yes pics will definately be needed! But seriously though I'd image it wouldn't be a problem as long the lense had a shoe on it and that went on the tripod. Still funny stuff, imagine seeing that setup at live sports event? haha too funny :)
Happy Holidays!
In a word "tripod".
Either that or the VR motor is going to be buzzing like a swarm of angry bees...
Kind of defeats the idea of a "compact" system camera (Ashton adverts show him putting one in his suit pocket), but...
Funny idea.

Not entirely agree, once you've got a bag for the lens, the camera will possibly fit in nicely without need for an extra bag :-) ==> still kinda compact... :-)
try it with the 1200-1700mm with a 2x converter :P
Yup very compact for sure! ^_~
There is a guy on another forum who has taken some shots with the 1200mm + tc301 + FT-1 + V1
Just found this video taken with Nikon 1 + FT1 + 70-200 2.8 combo.
I hope this link is fine to be post here.
