How soon is an 1 x 1 Aspect ratio firmware coming out. Is it possible to have a square crop in my D-800? It been long needed. Almost all the photographs you see on the Internet are square. I need a square crop 1x1 in the view finder particularly for all the many hundreds of photographers that I'll have soon. The headshots all have a consistent tight crop look not all over the place. Does anyone have an email address or phone number at Nikon so we can persuade an executive to push for this new firmware that's needed? I'm sure I'm not the only one who needs 1x1 aspect ratio in the camera. I'm going to have two thousand headshots taken daily at all my locations nationwide. Far to costly for post production and the photographs would be consistent looking either. <Link Removed>

Nice suggestion actually and now thet I think about it I would like for their cameras to have a function for it... I have always used lightroom in post though and If you can put your subject in the same place on the grid in the viewfinder the batch process isn't horribly bad... Also considering that is supposed to be a alternative for those who are too poor to go into medium format digital it isn't a bad idea...

Hmmm I don't notice a huge amount of photographs in 1: 1 format and it's rare for me to crop any of my shots to 1:1...
