Can anyone recommend some settings for use in nightclubs. ISO, Shutter, White balance etc. Should I use P, or S. Sorry to admit I tend to use Auto option too much and would now like to understand how to adjust my camera myself.

I shoot lots of nightclubs

I use normally 1/8th flash power
1/5th second shutter speed
f7.1 - f10
ISO 800-1200
Allways use manual mode as auto will confuse the camera due to the light being very fast moving and the camer wont understand
Whitebalance i allways use auto :)

No just standard D40 on board flash at present.
