I just joined here, but follow the forum here quite often. Here's my situation. I'm back as a commercial photographer after a 15 yr. hiatus as a "Mr. Mom". I have my old Nikkor and Tokina lenses(28-70mm, 60mm macro, 80-200mm). A couple of years ago I got a D200 and a 12-24mmDX and a 70-300DX. I really want to get a second body and use my D200 as a back-up. I can swing a D300, and if I really, really, beg my wife, a D700...especially if they come down in price. If you go to my website, you'll see what I shoot. I do have some studio shots there, and I do have A Speedotron Blackline, but I really am concentrating on the available light work. I have a couple of sport related shots which I captured with my D200, but I really am not what you would call a sport shooter...more editorial/advertorial/illustrative. I've seen the incredible low light, hi-ISO shots people do with the D700, but my guess is even the D300 would give me better noise at a higher ISO than my D200. Whatever I get will have to last for a number of years. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
ps...I see that there's an update expected for the D700 on the price guide section here. Any guesses as to what and when we'll see?
