So if I understand the way most of these sponsorship programs work, It can be any product, not just photo stuff. Whenever I buy something from Amazon, I like to go through one of my favorite blogs (usually Nikon Rumors, Rockwell (back in the pre-film days lol), or byThom.com). The problem is that its not always obvious how to get there from the NR blog. How about a few subtle links on the home page for those of us who would like to send some support your way?

The way I understand it is that if you click on an any ad that appears on NR, admin gets a cut. So no it doesn't have to be a photo product. Just as long as you click on the ads that appear on NR. So if you want to help admin out just click every single ad you see on NR each time you visit. You don't have to buy anything just click the ad. Total clicks per month translates into Cha-Ching for admin. NR gets paid through Google Ads not from Amazon or B&H photo.
But Willis, what I think your asking about is does admin have a direct sponsorship with say B&H Photo. Say you buy a Nikon D3X along with a 600mm lens and you go to B&H through an NR ad. Will admin get a cut? Right? Well admin wishes it worked that way because that would be a sweet percentage! But B&H & Amazon are not sponsoring Nikon Rumors directly.
I think NR does have Think Tank Photo as an actual sponsor though. So not sure if NR gets a cut from the sale of any items purchased there. Admin correct me if I'm full of BS :)

Niko - actually as I understand it work exactly that way, once You go to BH from this site (there are links on the main rumor page) and You buy i.e. d3x + N600/4 than admin will get some percentage - don't know how much, but wouldn't expect more than 1% (or even less) - so in some way You can call it a sponsorship.

I guess admin will have to set us straight then. But I know people from Google and the way they tell me is that Google sells the ad space to, say B&H photo, which google then puts up on Adwords. NR signs up for Adwords and selects photography as the audience. When someone clicks on the ad for B&H photo the owner of the website where the ad appears gets $.10US per each click! The website visitor who clicks the ad doesn't have to make a purchase for NR to collect the money from Google not B&H Photo.
IF B&H Photo was a sponsor of NR then admin would have a direct link to BH for a certain discount. For example, B&H Photo is a sponsor of NAPP (National Association of Photoshop Professionals). When I go to NAPP website and login I have access to a link that takes me to B&H Photo were I receive discounts on some items. NAPP gets a cut from B&H for my purchase.
As far as I know only Think Tank Photo has a deal with NR like this. Again, admin please correct me?
Oh yeah, You can also make a donation straight to admin in support of this site!

Ha! I'd rather have amazon make the donation for me LOL.

Or amazon could buy this website out for an "undisclosed amount" as it did with Dpreview! I'm sure admin wouldn't mind that!
