The "castle" is Mont-Saint-Michel in France. It took them 700 years to build it.
Just call me an ignorant American. You know you want to. ;-)
I meant no offense to Mont-Saint-Michel!

I like that shot mikeo, perhaps you should post at 800 pixels. That was such a bad day for photo... cold, rain, wind, fog... but still...
Pierre, I love that shot, and I love that place, it reminds me of a scene from Lord of the Rings, especially with the gloomy, desaturated look.
To Mordor!

Rest assured... I would never want something like this. Surely not for you....

I was quite pleased with the result but I have to admit not having too much credit for it, it is merely an accident as I was just trying to salvage something of that terrible shot (while having too much wine ;) I really like the two persons that unexpectedly showed-up.
I like your staircase shots Rx4, a bit fractal. Reminds me of a video game.

I find my tastes not too consistent, sometime too soft, sometime too much on the saturated side. I wanted to bring the green in the water as I remembered it.
Playing with the Zoom-Nikkor 50-300/f4.5. Beast of a lens and I think I can pull more out of it with some more learning. :)
NEVER AGAIN!!! My first and last shower. I've shot outlaw motorcycle rallies, riots and even tornado's touching down near me. But nothing ever effected my sanity more than shooting this 3 hour long baby shower. Maybe it's because I'm an old man but never in my wildest thoughts did I have any idea about this side of woman, absolutely none! LOL

I couldn't quite put my finger on it but you're right. Reminds me of the look from "Doom" and "Myst".
Pretty funny rant up there, Bland. LOL
Here I'm goofing off with my remote mode SB-900, Nikon CLS, and a rose I brought home for my wife.

D7K, Sigma 50mm F1.4 at f/2.8, ISO 100, 1/60sec
Great light on the grass.

New-Hampshire morning fog.
Another test shot with the 50-300. Strangely, I needed to white balance +1500k over the Tokina 12-24 and Nikkor 70-200 shots to get the same colours.
To jump in a little late on the Petit le Mans wagon, here's one of my better ones:

D7000, 70-200 2.8 VR, f/8, 1/60, ISO 200

Too bad there is no video on my D700, this Mount-Washington still looks peaceful while a video would have shown hurricane-force wind blowing the clouds beyond 90 MPH as if the mountain was the wing of a jet plane. It was scary to just walk and I had to hold my wife to the ground.
Great shots everyone!
SpringsApproach, that is so good! Awesome panning speed and balance!
