D7000 35mm 1.8 @ f/2.5 1/320 ISO 320
I was about to shoot an event at a department store where they had this display of butterflies hanging over the escalator. Probably rode the elevator 10 times roundtrip, just shooting straight up. I can imagine what the salespeople were thinking. Anyway, loved the way it seemed they just came out of nowhere when I overexposed a bit.

Where is that, Rob? How big is the cave? And does the rock look like it will crumble or is it solid looking? The rock climber in me would like to know. :]

The photo was taken in the Coquihalla Canyon (Othello Tunnels) near Hope. The "cave" is the entrance to the second tunnel on an abandon railway line. I think it would be unwise to go rock climbing there, the rocks are very unstable. Climbing down to where I took the shot was risky enough. Part of the park is closed due to a rock-side.

Thanks Pierre and Bland! The snake is a common garter snake, so it wasn't much of a threat. The 200mm f/4 helped, I wasn't that close.

I came across an 100-years-old-looking photographer in Portugal that was selling for 5 euros vintage-like grainy B&W taken with that thing. Beside on a chair, a single bath of Kodak chemical. As advertisement, he had a board full of photos of himself with celebrities, Marilyn, rock-stars, old presidents, Castro, the whole shebang.Posted 1 year ago #
