This one came out a little weird but it was a constant battle with the stage side-lights, fast moving subjects and trying to make center weighted or spot metering work in my favor. I really need a better low light zoom.
Anyway:

My new lens showed up in the mail Friday just before I went out on the lake with some friends, so I took it along for a trial run (bought it for portraits, but apparently it's not too bad at sports either).

That's really a good shot R&R. I had he same problem last night shooting Kansas except the lights were directly behind the band. It was like shooting into an alien space ship with all its lights set on high beam. I'd of been up a creek without a paddle if it wasn't for Lightroom.
VelocityStop......awesome shot! One has to try that shot to know how hard it is. That's a pretty rough ride in the back of the boat.

I could be wrong but I believe this guy is flying around the above lake and perhaps event from the cliffs you see on the right corner. The geography appear to be consistent with the maps of the area where I took that shot. In his video, you can clearely see the lake color.Posted 1 year ago # -
This is Kansas playing with their head lights on. I'm not complaining because I got some pretty neat special effects from it last night.

@wheelmanbmf I shot a ton of that Wednesday night too... getting extremely close to that kind of movement with the ultra-wide was dancing in itself!
