Hey folks! Its been a while...
Anyway, I was reading up on Steve Jobs leaving Apple and came across a story about Apple possibly jumping into the printer market. This according to the new CEO, Tim Cook. (just google search this, if you want to read more.)
Having read this, I sort of got excited. While i am not really a fan of Apple's products, i have to wonder what sort of printer they might develop for photographers. They DO tend to make high quality stuff and could see a "printer" war with Canon and Epson.

    Thoughts, anyone?

To me, I doubt Apple will produce any products that are not designed for the mass market. Even traditional professional products are getting discontinued or simplified- xserves, final cut pro X being the biggest examples. Of course, who could blame them- there is a lot more money in consumer products than specialist ones. If Apple does make a printers, I would suspect that it will be to take advantage of compatibility with iOS devices, and not to cater to a fairly small segment (photographers who make their own prints professionally) of an already small market (serious photographers in general).

apple use to have printers my friend still has an old apple computer with a printer, and what I've asked back then the quality wasn't to good, the only reason apple would get back to that is now they have a following of loyal people who will do, buy and agree with what ever apple does says and sells, so we never know what the future will bring but i don't think it will be anything special.

The story you're referring to is from The Onion. The Onion is a satirical (read: joke) newspaper. Nothing in The Onion is in any way factual. It's only a joke.

Apple is NOT getting into the printer market.
