    Hello everyone.

    So on the announcement page here on NR the AW100 is listed as being able to shoot HD video at 24, 60, 120, and 240fps. Then on their website it just says 1080P at 24 and some places show 720 at 60. What are the actual specs I like the idea of a camera like this with out a fisheye like the gopro camera.

    If the video is at 24, 60, 120, and 240 is it something like this?
    1080P = 24
    720P = 60
    640 = 120
    320 = 240

    and what is the bit rate for these?

    Thanks for any info you guys can scrape up.

    I think your assumption is right. This is what Nikon's press release says.
    Adventure happens fast, and the AW100 is ready to capture Full HD video to document the day’s climb, hike, bike or dive. The COOLPIX AW100 can capture stereo audio and has the ability to optically zoom during video recording. In addition to Full HD, the camera features a dedicated movie-record button enabling fast, one-touch recording on the fly. Creative movie making can happen with slow and fast action recording options; shoot slow-motion movies at 60, 120 and 240 frames-per-second (fps) or capture fast motion movies at 15 fps.

    It will be hard to confirm specifics when the AW100 isn't even available yet. Why don't you email Nikon and see what they tell you?

    Thank you Krevlin for the heads up, not much in the way of video on the thing yet. NIko I'll send an email and see what comes back.

    Looking forward to hearing what Nikon tells you aesnakes but I'm sure you pretty much figured it out. I doubt 1080 will be available at anything other then 24.

    Here is what I got from Nikon, they wont give the bit rates but it wount be hard to find out after shooting a few samples an running them through even quicktime pro with the info box up.

    Dear Rob Bannister,

    Thank you for contacting Nikon Technical Support.

    The video specs are as follow:

    - Full 1080p at 30fps
    - Full 1080p at 15fps (plays back with sound at double speed)
    - 720p at either 30fps or 60fps
    - 640 x 480 at either 30fps or 120fps
    - 320 x 240 at 240fps

    Unfortunately we do not release the bit rate of our video.

    Hoping this information is helpful.

    Regards,

    The Nikon Team
