Recently I went on a 9 day trip and took many videos the pictures. I have filled up my first 16gb card in about 5 days so the camera use the second 16gb card I in the slot. So I was trying to record a clip and it wouldn't like me. My second card was far from full it was just my first card that was full. Does the D7000 only record videos on the first SD slot? I do not see any setting to activated the video recording with the second slot.

Shooting menu > Movie settings > Destination

(allows you to choose card 1 or card 2 and shows the recording time available on each card)

Of course you could just switch the cards between slots.

Thanks VelocityStop!!! I cannot have it record with the second card on the slot automatically without going to the menu or changing slots?

I don't know - haven't done much with video on mine. From your experience, it looks like you probably can't. If you are planning on shooting a fairly equal amount of pictures and video, I would just set video to record on card 2 so that you would be less likely to have to switch anything over (pictures can be set to automatically overflow to the second card, so you would only have to worry about switching anything if you filled up card 2 and had not already filled the first card with pictures).
