Had the opportunity to visit a small town rodeo - they let the photographer go everwhere with no restrictions. As the sunlight dimmed the ISO went up to 3200 on my D700. Most of the shots were made with a 50mm f1.4. Here's one of mine

nice picture for the photo-a-day thread
Great shots snaketail. Cooper, Tx is that north of Houston? I like the red boots on the blue fence in your flickr photostream.
adamz the P-A-D thread has really been turning into the birds only thread.
Love it! I'm so envious of the D700's high ISO capabilities.
Thanks for the nice comment. Cooper is east of Dallas, just south of Paris. I'll post on P-A-D next time.

Snaketail are you still a member of ATPI? I went to some of there workshops a few summers ago. Got to meet a lot of great people.

I made the rodeo pix during the ATPI summer workshop - last weekend. They moved the dates and for the past two years we've gone to the Cooper rodeo on Friday evening. Good thing about small town events - they let the photographers go everwhere. One guy got great video of a bull charging him...well a few seconds of the charge then a lot of "retreat". Yes, still going to ATPI (Association of Texas Photographic Instructors).

Wow, small world isn't it. ATPI is a lot of fun. Very friendly atmosphere. I didn't go to the rodeo on my visit. I did a food photography workshop with Wendy Dooldeniya. Boy was I hungry after that workshop!
