D700 doesn't update firmware

I formatted the card, copied the .bin V1.02 onto it, inserted into the D7000 but the camera doesn't give an option to update the firmware. Has anyone a suggestion whats wrong?

What firmware version is currently installed? If you got your camera recently (within the last month or so) it likely already has 1.02 installed.

The thread title says D700, your full question says D7000. First off, which camera are you having the problem with?

or more to the point, is he having problembs with the camera, or is he treating it like a computer and updating because there is an update.

Just noticed, both the D700 and D7000 latest firmware have version 1.02 , maybe got the wrong download ??
