Thanks alchse! I'm fairly new at processing digital photos as well. The outcome of that image was a combination of mostly cloudy skies which imparted more of a whitish tone on the water and a couple of adjustments in post processing. I tweaked vibrancy up a couple of notches and then used the Auto Levels application which really made the silvery tone pop by adjusting whites, midtones, and blacks. I'm using Aperture which I was given as a gift but I know this is available on other editing programs as well.
