I have beenn reading about a possible successor to the P7000 sometime soon in 2011. I cannot see any issues with the P7000 and now that there has been a significant price drop, it is quite tempting. Everything about the P7000 seems desirable. Any reason to wait?

I believe there is a new firmware release available for the P 7000 also.

I suspect slow sales are the reason that the P7000 price has dropped.

Price drop or not, that doesn't make me any more interested in a P7000.
